Jean Victor Balin StarploseToo Good for Drugs
Due to the prevalence of drug abuse and addiction in the surrounding area, the staff and students will be learning the truth about the horrible effects of many of the well-known drugs available to our students.  We hope that the truth about these drugs will deter students from ever experimenting with them in the first place and definitely put away any bad habits they are in the process of developing.

Close Reading
On alternating Fridays, students join a small group of similar ability-level readers and an instructor to hone their close reading skills.  The system for this program is based on STAR reading levels; packets were created to fit students' individual needs.  The program has been a great success as much effort has been focused on increasing reading ability throughout the school.

Yoga/Ping Pong/Tennis/Gym Activities
On Tuesdays and Thursdays Mrs. Baker's Physical Education classes may participate in yoga or mindful relaxation as a method of relieving stress and worry, calming minds, increasing flexibility, and improving overall health or ping pong, yoga or other physical activities to increase physical endurance and hand-eye coordination.

Newsletters
Mrs. Artrip's computer classes are responsible for creating and editing a school newsletter several times throughout the year.  This is a great opportunity for students to express creativity, responsibility, and attention to detail in order to create quality work to represent their school.
