LifeHouse Brings Life and Hope

Rocky Meadows went to jail 37 times.  He was a drug and alcohol addict.  By the age of 14 he was an alcoholic and cocaine dealer.  He spent 10 years in prison.  He walked away from his children for 9 years.  His life was a mess.  He spoke of a change.  He shared his experience with the Alternative School students.  He told of a house he was able to purchase where he could teach others to turn from a life of addiction.  He said that helping others makes his life so much better.  He now helps people in 10 LifeHouses.  He has beds for 80 men and 35 women.  He told the students they needed to respect themselves before they could respect others.  He repeatedly expressed that our students could make their own choices - they did not have to go down the wrong road.

Two other men came with Rocky to speak.  Will came from a nice family but began down the wrong road of drugs at the age of 13.  He was consistently making bad decisions and getting into trouble until the age of 22.  He finally turned his life around and is now finishing college and heading toward a law degree.  Jacob began drinking and drugs at 13.  His story was similar of making bad choices and being in and out of placements and prison.  He has now been out of prison for 2 years and sober for 2 months.  He has no drivers license or trade from school so life is beginning new for him.

Finally these inspirational men shared pizza with our students.  What a good day!
